This is not a funny book. This is not a quirky amusement to keep beside the toilet. This book is a declaration to all of those art academic types who have not tried before that it is time to dispel all their preconceived notions, and see who James Jackson, Poet, really is.
A talented writer.
A man with a lot to say.
And a man worth listening to.
So, as he says in the poem “in camera”:
we long for stardom
the immortality of galaxies
with infinite pixel definition
I don’t know about you
but I’m ready for my close-up
So let’s give him that close up. I declare this book launched, and here is the Poet himself: Mr James Jackson!
This is the text of the speech given by Melbourne poet, Cam Black, at the launch of James Jackson's Two Minutes Hatefuck. Used with permission.
